Dan Ward uses photography in an effort to capture images that touch people. His candid portraits seek moments of intense emotions such as affection, deep thought, joy and contemplation. His landscapes are intended to portray contrasting scenes, while his nature photographs explore different or unseen vistas.

Dan has received awards in a variety of photography shows including the 2006 & 2008 Meadowlark Photo Expo (Kodak’s Sponsors Choice award in 2006), On Your Own Time art shows in Dallas (People’s Choice Awards in 2004 and 2006), the 2007 Claude Moore Nature Photo Expo, the Ellipse Gallery 2007 Top Photos of the Past 75 Years and various community art shows in Virginia, Texas, Connecticut and Arizona.

His recent work includes collaboration with the poet, Dr. Catherine Sweeney Burton. Examples of their photohaiku and phoetry can be seen in the Emerge, Phoetry and Plane of Life galleries.
